Terry Vosbein, guest conductor, composer and arranger

These performances will highlight newly discovered compositions from Stan Kenton's most popular years, 1947-48. Due to a recording ban, a great deal of music from this period has not been heard since then. Some titles have never been performed. In addition the concert will feature a new library of music by American composer Terry Vosbein, composed during his recent stay in Paris and Copenhagen and inspired by these great works of the Kenton band.

At 90, Gerald Wilson conducts with the energy and passion of a man less than half his age. His boundless enthusiasm has fueled a 70 year career, writing music for some of the biggest names in jazz - Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and others. Mr. Wilson has been honored with the National Endowment for the Arts' prestigious American Jazz Masters Fellowship and his works have been archived by the Library of Congress. Don't miss this American treasure!
