Knoxville Jazz Workshop: Fall 2025
The mission of the Knoxville Jazz Workshop is to inspire, educate and enable the next generation of jazz musicians in East Tennessee.
DATES/TIMES:
Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 pm.
September 13-November 22
Activities include group lessons in woodwinds, brass, piano, guitar, bass and drum set, theory classes, ensemble rehearsals, listening sessions and master classes. The semester’s work will culminate in an end-of-semester performance on Monday, November 24 at the Bistro at the Bijou.

SCHOLARSHIPS:
Need-based scholarships are available. We believe that finances should not prevent a motivated and talented student from participating in our program.

FACULTY:
Margherita Fava
Artistic director, piano
Margherita Fava, born in Follina, Italy, moved to the U.S. in 2016 and since then earned a B.A. in Jazz Studies at Michigan State University and a M.M. in Jazz and Studio Music at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
She is now a full time musician, educator, arranger and composer based in Tennessee and collaborates with numerous musicians including Gregory Tardy, Rodney Whitaker, Randy Napoleon, Gina Benalcazar, among others.
Her debut album “TATATU” featuring Greg Tardy and produced by Rodney Whitaker was released on all streaming platforms in March 2023 and received a 4-star review on Downbeat Magazine.

Cameron Moore
Guitar
Cameron Moore is from Memphis. He’s has been a musician in Knoxville for the last decade after attending the University of Tennessee. Currently, Cameron can be seen performing with Brian Clay, LVNDR, Three Star Revival, and Milkshake Fatty, among other acts.
Hugh Lindsay
Brass
Originally from Kentucky, Hugh Linsday got his Master’s degree at the University of Tennessee. Fluent in both classical and jazz repertoire, Hugh is now a member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, as well as Adjunct Instructor of Low Brass at Pellissippi State Community College.
David Feldhaus
Saxophone
David Feldhaus is from Nashville. He now studies saxophone and clarinet with Gregory Tardy at the University of Tennessee. David has played at many venues in both Nashville and Knoxville and has teaching experience. David derives most of his inspiration from jazz greats Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, and Cannonball Adderley.
Larsen Buck
Bass
Larsen Buck is a jazz bassist from Nashville, TN. She is currently studying Jazz performance at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Experienced with both upright and electric bass, she has studied with renowned musicians such as Jon Hamar, Delbert Felix, and John Allen. Her dedication to jazz has earned her awards for outstanding musicianship and scholarships from various jazz foundations state-wide and nationally. Some of her biggest influences are Ray Brown, Paul Chambers, Scott LaFaro, and many others.
